Fancy a Little Yarnporn?

sheeps head

As you probably know the Sheep’s Head Yarn Festival took place in May and 8 of us piled into two cars and headed down to West Cork for the day.

As we’ve already told you all about the wonderful day we spent in the glorious, sunbathed location  in the magazine, I won’t go over it all again.

Instead, how about I share my naughty purchases with you?

A little yarnporn, don’t tell the hubby will you?

Confession Time

Untitled design (4)
When we were young

Confession time…..

I’m a much nicer person when I knit and my sore shoulder/arm/elbow (the pain keeps moving), has dampened my creative enthusiasm a little of late.  I’m not usually prone to low ebbs, but this has taken a little of the wind out of my sails, so to speak.

I think, fingers crossed, sod it! – fingers, toes and anything else you can think of crossed, it’s on the mend.

Oh Dear

OH!

Well it was bound to happen sooner or later I guess?

I’ve hurt my shoulder and I can tell you, it’s impacting on my life more than just a little right now.  Ironically, I don’t think it’s from too much knitting, instead I’m pretty sure it’s from too much driving to woolly events.  It’s sore to knit, worse to type and driving is up there in the OUCH! category at the moment, hence my conclusion.

Book Review – London Craft Guide

ww

As I started to gather the bits and pieces for my trip to Wales this weekend, knitting projects first of course 😉  I started to think about the other yarn/art festivals, I’d like to visit.  There are, as you’d probably expect, quite a few, many of them are much further afield than the UK – Maryland Wool and Sheep, Vogue Knitting, Knit Camp and Squam to name but a few.  As for UK based festivals, I’d still like to go to Woolfest in Cumbria, Fibre East in Bedfordshire and Unravel in Surrey.

Dreaming away, i suddenly realised that I’ve completely forgotten to tell you all about the book from the Yarn in the City ladies, that Deirdre picked up for me when she went to Unravel earlier in the year.

It’s a Spring Thing

IMG_0303

I’m currently trying not to look up from my computer, as the sun is rising directly outside the window I sit at and it’s making my eyes water.  I’ll be safe just as soon as it lifts a little higher and I’ll be able to watch the cows march back to the fields after milking.

I Told You I’d Made Two

untitled-12

By now the whole world must have heard of the Nellie May Shawl from the latest issue of Olann and.  It went completely bonkers across all the social media networks and the #nelliemaykal is creating more interaction and a great buzz among the knitting community.

Late As Ever

IMG_0103

When I posted the other day, I had great plans to publish again the day after.  That was Sunday and it’s Wednesday already, what’s happened?  It’s not like I’ve been stuck under a pile of chocolate eggs or something, anyway, better late than never I guess….

Happy Friday

2016-03-18 09.59.23

I thoroughly enjoyed my morning dog walk, it was beautiful out there and has now turned into the most glorious of days.  Spring is definitely in the air, which has really helped us as we had our Olann and photo shoot earlier.  I’m really excited about this coming issue and I know I’ve said that before, but it really is getting better every time (well I think so)  I’m not sure if it’s because we’re more knowledgeable about the process, or whether we’re just more comfortable with what we’re doing?  Whatever it is, it feels very much like it’s working.

I Can See a Rainbow

2016-03-09 15.58.23

Quick, quick, quick as there’s knitting group to go to tonight and serious cake eating to do.  Not that I’m supposed to be eating wheat, but bugger it anyway, Victoria Sponge is one of my favourites.
