I’ve been dying to wear my new socks, but couldn’t find them after showing them on the last episode of the Olann and Podcast. Dis-organisation at it’s best – nothing new there. You can imagine my relief, when I went to pull out another pair I’d been working on and discovered these beauties.
Knitting – My Cast on Mania

This week is a good week (so far anyway), we’re waiting on test results, but it’s going to be all good I can feel it in my bones. If were being honest, some of my favourite people, no longer inhabit the same world as me, so the least they can do is look after the other important to me, people. It’s not too much to ask now is it?
Enough nonsense, lets talk knitting and yarn…..
A Big Knitted Hug

I’ve been a little absent on here of late, sorry.
The truth is I’ve been a little absent of late everywhere. As I said in one of my previous posts, there have been many changes to my day to day family life recently. To top it all off, the optician spotted something amiss at my youngest’s routine eye test. He’s been to the hospital twice so far and we’re currently waiting for him to be called in for a few more checks. Fingers crossed it’ll be nothing, but it’s always better to be safe than sorry.
Knitting Short Rows – My Favourite Technique

As most of you probably know by now, one of my current works in progress is the Vitamin D Cardigan by Heidi Kirrmaier. It’s been on the needles for a little while now, as I’ve been rather distracted by all of the other wip’s that I need to get through and the odd new project or swatch for Olann and.
Empty Nest Syndrome – Knitting my way through it.

For the majority of my adult life I’ve been a mum
For all of my adult life I’ve been a mum, I had Dina before I was old enough to vote and if we’re being honest, I’ve grown up with my kids, the older two especially. You’d be forgiven for thinking, that I probably never had a chance to leave home before my children came along, but that’s not the case. I’d already been living ‘independently’, on and off for about two years, before I had Dina (whole different story and something akin to an Eastenders plot line).
Goodies From Yarndale 2016
I’m not going to lie, I was a little disappointed not to be able to attend Yarndale this year, after having gone last year and the year before. In addition to seeing all the lovely goodies on sale and making a few naughty purchases, it gives me an opportunity to catch up with my best friend, who moved back to Doncaster a few years ago.
Irish Fields Captured in Yarn Form

Continually captivated by where I live, I’m forever taking photos of the farm and surrounding area just because they make me smile.
Solar Dyeing Woolly Goodness
Hopefully you’ve had a chance to read the article about the day we spent solar dyeing up at my house with the other members of the Cork Guild of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers and some knittterly friends in Issue 5 of Olann and?
Today is a New Sock Day

I finished knitting these lovelies, whilst I was away on holiday, but wasn’t in any rush to sew in the ends at the time. We were, as you know, having lots of lovely sandal weather and I was waiting for a pair of birthday shoes. My children had ordered them in time, but sadly, they were out of stock and we were advised of a six to eight week delay.
Fixing Those Sleeves
A few of you might have seen this photo on Instagram earlier this week? If you did, you’ll also know that I’m on a mission to fix a cardigan.
