Maybe that should be no time to knit, or very little knitting done? I’ve had a bit of a hectic social life of late and whilst I crave the opportunity to get out and about, I really would just like to have a little free time to knit.
Maybe that should be no time to knit, or very little knitting done? I’ve had a bit of a hectic social life of late and whilst I crave the opportunity to get out and about, I really would just like to have a little free time to knit.

Lately, it seems like the majority of my knitting has been on projects that have to be kept under wraps. Which does tend to make talking about them a little difficult?
I couldn’t resist sharing a sneaky photo on Instagram the other week, but since then I’ve shown total restraint when it comes to flashing these lovely little baby knits.
I’m knitting to a deadline for the next issue of Olann and. Nothing new there, but it can have the tendency to suck the joy out of what you’re working on. Fortunately, that isn’t the case with my current knit, but it is killing me that I can’t share my progress. It’s not even something that I could take the odd close up of because I think it might give the game away.

With the majority of my knitting time being spent on getting some of the samples for the next issue of Olann and ready, it feels like I’ve very little of my own projects done.
Maybe that’s why I’ve felt drawn to trying to get a little spinning done of late?

You might have spotted the image of a shade card I posted on Instagram a couple of weeks ago?
My comment was a little cryptic at the time and despite a few good guesses by some of my followers, no one actually worked out exactly what I was up to.
Perhaps this photo might give a little more insight?
(I’ll split this post up into two otherwise it’s going to be incredibly long, sorry)

Isn’t life wonderful, everything in the garden is rosy. It’s a perfect world, nothing ever goes wrong for me and I’m as happy as can be.
Or so social media would have you believe.

In 2017 I really amped up my handmade gift making, between knitting, crochet, baking, etc, I really tried to be more mindful of the gifts I gave. Whilst I hope the presents were appreciated and will be useful, what surprised me most about it, was how it made me feel. The joy of making something specifically for a loved one, friend or in the case of charity knitting, someone in need, has me wanting to make all the gifts I can in 2018.

The idea of knitting a Christmas gift for all of my close friends and family, brought me more joy than I had anticipated. Unfortunately, as is so often the case when you’ve left yourself with very little time to achieve something, mistakes can be made.
Maybe that’s just me, is it?
Determined to give my family and close friends a knitted gift each for Christmas 2017, I set out a plan of action to select the ideal design, with a very definite criteria.
