I’m knitting to a deadline for the next issue of Olann and. Nothing new there, but it can have the tendency to suck the joy out of what you’re working on. Fortunately, that isn’t the case with my current knit, but it is killing me that I can’t share my progress. It’s not even something that I could take the odd close up of because I think it might give the game away.
With the majority of my knitting time being spent on getting some of the samples for the next issue of Olann and ready, it feels like I’ve very little of my own projects done.
Maybe that’s why I’ve felt drawn to trying to get a little spinning done of late?
In 2017 I really amped up my handmade gift making, between knitting, crochet, baking, etc, I really tried to be more mindful of the gifts I gave. Whilst I hope the presents were appreciated and will be useful, what surprised me most about it, was how it made me feel. The joy of making something specifically for a loved one, friend or in the case of charity knitting, someone in need, has me wanting to make all the gifts I can in 2018.
What do you make when you only have one word to inspire you?
