Do I Really Need Another Project?

The Barbara Prime Fuzzy Mitten Mystery KAL 2016 kicked off last week, on Friday the 15th of the April and I just couldn’t resist the temptation to join in.  I’ve either been too late or too busy to take part in previous years, but being on the ball for a change (well kind off), I signed up and paid for my pattern.

Yesterday, I downloaded the first clue and went to raid the stash box.  Clue one calls for brown worsted weight yarn, with the option to use a different colour to preserve your toys modesty – knickers of some sort I guess?  I only have a limited supply of worsted weight yarn, so instead dug around in the crates of aran yarn I have.  You might remember I’ve recently raided the aran weight stash to knit the baby blanket?  Fortunately, I’ve loads of yarn (you’d think I owned a yarn shop?), so I doubt I’ll run out, but I’m trying to be good and use ends where possible.

Clue one was a lovely little knit, that I started and finished whilst watching an episode of Once Upon a Time with the boys.  The brown yarn is Rico Essentials Merino Aran and the Ecru is a scrap of Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran.

There’s a Fuzzy Mitten Group on Ravelry with a Mystery Knit-Along 2016 thread where you can share your progress and ask for help and advice if you need it.

Are you joining in too?

Before I go, I have to share my excitement

3 more sleeps!

I’ve booked in to the Wonderwool Woolschool for the Selecting Fleeces For Processing class with Sue Blacker on Saturday too, so it promises to be even more sheepy than expected.  I can’t wait – my poor husband told me he didn’t marry me he married my wool this morning 😱
